Sunday Morning we woke up to 4 inches of SNOW!

All of Jeremy's family was coming over at 9:00 for

Breakfast, Conference, & Egg Hunting.

So, we postponed the hunt until after Conference, and

the snow had MOSTLY melted by then...but now the

MUD was our biggest problem! So, we spread out the

hunt to the road, gravel, and anyplace we could find that

wasn't knee deep in MUD!

7lbs. 10oz. - 19.5" Long

Slone spent 3 days in the NICU.

This is an IV they had to put in his head...they'd used

up all the veins in his arms.

They had to put splints on his arms because he kept bending
them & kinking the IV's & setting off the alarms.

This is Slone's little station in the NICU.

Slone was born on a Tuesday, but Jack and Cannon didn't

get to meet him until Friday. They don't allow children

under 16 in the NICU. They were so excited to meet him

for the first time!

This is Slone's namesake. My Grandpa Don.

When he came to see the baby, he said: "I don't care

what you guys call him...but I'm calling him Donald!"

These are our 6 new little baby chicks! They are only 2

weeks old. These are part of Jack's new "business".

Their names are: Sally, Lucy, Hermione,...and I

forget the rest! So, if you are interested in

Anybody who knows Jack well, knows he is

FULL OF IT!

He is too smart for his own good...most of the time.

Here are a few of his regular antics:

"Mom! Are you going the Speed LEMON?"

"You GOT-FORGOT to get me a snack!"

"Are they strangers or HUMANS?"

Jack: "I've got to get ready for my Date. The

Date said I could wear my Jammies!"

Mom: "Who is the Date?"

Jack: "Ch! The Date is Las Vegas!"

"I have 2 Girlfriends that I'm dating right now!"

And my favorite: "You are the best mom in the

whole WHITE world!"

I am amazed, when I look back over the past

year, how little time it has taken for Jack

and Cannon to become such good little buddies.

When Cannon was born, I thought it would

take years before he would be able to

keep up with Jack. Well, Cannon is 16 Months

old and he is HOLDIN' HIS OWN!

When Jack and Cannon were both about 6 months

old we started teaching them Sign Language.

They were both very quick at picking it up!

All of Cannon's signs are now starting to

turn into words! He signs what he wants...

and now says the words too!

He is SO SMART!

These 2 little guys are so special! (And Dad...

I don't mean special, like "SPECIAL"!)

Every once in a while I catch myself watching

them play and just smile to myself, thinking...

I was on the phone with Jeremy one morning for

not HEAR the boys...I said to Jer: "They are being

TOO quiet! I'd better go find them!"

AND this is what I found...

and clothes...and the carpet. And Cannon sitting by

enjoying the facial tutorial. Yeah, I learn

something new each day...Quiet kids aren't

necessarily good kids!

I've said it before, but I LOVE this time of year!

I love the Holidays! I love the snow!

Everything just looks so pure and clean...everyone's

yards are so pristine and perfect. There is something

very beautiful about an untouched, snow-covered field!

It's so neat that, in Utah, we get to experience all the seasons.

Because when each new one come around, I find a new

appreciation for something about that time of year.

a Lunch Bunch! We do it at a different Lady's house

each month...and the Hostess has the resposibility

We all had to dress up as witches. I was the "rookie"
this year...I'd never been to one of Cathi's productions

The Next SURVIVOR Season...

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES

Six married men will be dropped on an island with

one car and 3 kids each for six weeks.

Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes.

There is no fast food.

Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean,

correct all homework, and complete science projects ,

cook, do laundry, and pay a list of 'pretend' bills

with not enough money. In addition, each man will have

to budget in money for groceries each week.

Each man must remember the birthdays of all their

friends and relatives, and send cards out on time--no emailing.

Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment,

a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment.

He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit

per child to the Urgent Care.

He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function.

Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned

house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.

The men will only have access to television when the

kids are asleep and all chores are done.

The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily,

adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes,

keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed.

During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure

severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme,

unexplained mood swings but never once complain or

slow down from other duties.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church,

and find time at least once to spend the afternoon at

the park or a similar setting.

They will need to read a book to the kids each night and

in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth

and comb their hair by 7:00 am.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks,

and each father will be required to know all of the following information:

each child's birthday, height, weight,shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name.

Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor,

each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack,

favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear

and what they want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island based on performance.

The last man wins only if..........he still has enough energy

to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win, he can play the game over

and over and over again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning

the right To be called Mother!

a very good "smeller". IF I could have been able to

sniff these 2 out...it wouldn't have gotten this far!

I was working at my desk...and these 2 were hiding

around the other side of that SAME desk...up to no good!

As I was sitting there working, I was thinking: "Boy it's nice

that they are finally playing without making each other scream!"

Yeah...This was much worse than a little screaming.
Once I found them I told Jack: "I'm really not happy about
this...But, let me grab my camera and get some pictures!"

Jack needed a haircut!

So, I called Kim to schedule it. Well...then

Jack saw a show about buzzing/shaving

Alpacca's to harvest their hair!

And ever since then that's what he wanted to do!

So instead of going in for our scheduled snip-snip...

I gave in and last night buzzed all of his beautiful, red,

long hair right off!!

Now I have 2 bald boys!

He has the cutest little head!

He has never had this little of hair in his ENTIRE life!

(He came out with a full head of long red hair!)

I don't regret it! I actually quite like it!

It is nice for a change to not have to do anyone's hair but MINE!

38 Months Younger than Jack!

Cannon is an awesome baby! He is so smart.

And very sweet! He already knows how to wrap

We went to his 9 Mo. check-up this morning

and he is as tiny as ever. He is only in the

2%-ile for his weight and height! And the 8%-ile for

his head measurments!

Jack was small as a baby also...I guess the

boys are lucky that they get their small, slight,

slender fisique's from their dad! You know Jeremy...

just a dainty thing himself!

My friend Tara is a true SPORT! My (almost)

4-year-old Jack thinks she is a WAY cooler

and Iguanas in her house!

This is Mr. Potato Bug. This is the only living

creature...besides the 3 boys in my life...that

will be allowed inside the walls of my home.

I am not cool! I hate bugs and creepy crawly

things. I suck!

Back From The (apparent) Dead!

I have had 2 girlfriends in the past few days ask me

where I have been lately! And it didn't dawn on me

until then that I have been extremely out of touch this

past month. I have been consumed by shoes, yard,

shoes, fairs, shoes, work, and more work!

I have lost touch with all kinds of people over these past

3-4 weeks. Well I am back from the "apparent" dead.

No excuses...just life gets carried away sometimes. And

before you know it a month has gone by and it's hard

to believe!

This is the newest addition to my "Shoe Fetish" business.

Our 2nd Shoe party trailer! Up and running officially...

as of last night!

This is the East end of our new roping arena that we
have been working on at our house!

And...the West end. Fascinating...I know!This is 1 of 3 Dump Truck loads of boulders that

we will be building a rock wall in the back yard with.

This is Jeremy and Jack on the Mini-X that we rented

to move all of our boulders around with. It took Jeremy

on average of about 1/2 hour PER ROCK to move them.

So...we'll be renting this puppy again soon...and often.

This is Cannon after he got a little sun one day.

He was most comfortable crawling around the house

with this cold wet washcloth on his head for about

2 days straight.

And this is Jack, mesmorized by fireworks, right in

our own front yard!

This is how he has learned to work himself

around the house. He chases after Jack all

day. He is constantly watching him and wanting

to be where Jack is! It's so fun to watch the 2 of

them interact. They will be great friends!

Kim's boyfriend Chad gave Jack a Belt Buckle that

he won at a High School Rodeo a while back. This is the

best gift that Jack has ever received! He wears it

NON-STOP! He would sleep and bathe with it on...

if we let him. Chad is now Jack's new best friend.

Jack has resolved to quit shaving so he can grow

He has not shaved his face for about 2 weeks now.

And he is a bit disappointed that he hasn't seen

any real results yet. So, this homemade-duct tape one

will have to suffice for now!

This was one of my Mother's Day surprises!

Jeremy bought the boys these T-shirts and smuggled

them into the bedroom to get the boys dressed and

surprise me! I laughed so hard! I found myself giggling

throughout the rest of the day...just thinking about it!

And NO! They did NOT wear their new T-shirts to

church. I thought it would be a little inappropriate!

It must be hard being a baby! All that food and pampering...

Everyone cheers as you double & triple your weight!

Nobody cares that you are pouring on the pounds...in fact,

they kiss and love you MORE for it!

And then there is the napping. It's SO cute when you

fall asleep and drool. It's not rude when you fall asleep while

someone's talking to you. People just eat it up!

It must be nice living in that little 13lb. body.

These are Cannon's mood changes. ALL taking place

in a matter of minutes.

It's hard to feel bad for this baby!

oh sweet jack!

what a blessing he is to our family. this is often what

naptime looks like. and as he gets older (pushing 3 1/2)

he gets more creative in ways to get out of this much

needed quiet time. "i need to go potty!" (4 times?

i think not!) i finally resorted to threats the other day.

i walked in after 2 hours of the "run-around" and said:

"if i come in again and you are NOT asleep, i'm going

to throw you in the snow!" 10 minutes later he had

been dunked in the front yard. after a few minutes

of giggling...i conceeded and let him get up.

then, his new passion...the imfamous dollar question!

if he asks you a questions, and you don't know the answer...

you owe him a dollar! so watch out!

to help you out with this...i'll just tell you now...

a forsypomia is a bug! and the famous bull that lane frost

rode was "red rock".

next are his ever-growing # of phone calls to his dad

and papa during the day. he has memorized

both of their phone #'s and will sneak in a phone

call any chance he can get. when he gets his dad

on the line he proceeds with questions like:

"so...what are you doing today?" or "do you like

horses that pee on the fence?" at naptime a few

weeks ago, he managed to smuggle my cell phone

in under the covers and when i heard him talking

i went in and found him buried under his covers

talking to dad! i had no idea what he was up to

and when he was discovered...the was an uproar

of laughter on the other end of the phone!

then there is jack's bathroom regimen...

he is the most hygeinic 3-year-old i know.

he bathes regularly, without help from us. he puts

deodorant on religously. he shaves the "prickley's"

off his face (with the guard of course), he

brushes his teeth probably 4 times a day, and

he wears cologne! you'd be hard pressed to find

an adult who cared that much about their hygeine.

when there is something he really wants...he will

always end his question with "...sweet mommy?"

"can i have some root beer, sweet mommy?"

can i stay up to watch the nfr, sweet mommy?"

needless to say, he gets whatever he wants!

when i ask jack: "how come your so cute?"

without fail...his response is always: "cause of my dad!"

he has been taught well!

with the passing of pres. hinckley this past week,

we had the chance to listen to his funeral services

and reflect upon the effect he had on our lives.

he cherished and valued the family and i am

grateful to be able to be with mine for eternity.

i don't have all the answers, and i sometimes

don't know where all my time disappears to. but, at

the close of each day i can get on my knees and

be thankful for the 3 boys that i can call my own,

and pray that tomorrow will bring as many smiles

as the day before.

On Martin Luther King Day we enjoyed a trip to

Eureka (Mammoth) to go sledding on a hill that

Jeremy used to sled when he was younger!

It was a great snow day!!

We blessed Cannon at our church on Sunday Jan. 6th, 2008.

Jeremy gave a GREAT blessing and almost all of our

family was able to be there. Cannon looked SO

handsome in his cute little suit and vest. He is such a

sweet and happy baby. We feel very grateful to have

him in our family.

"Todd" Dog...

Jack and Cannon both have these stuffed Hound Dogs

that Grandma made for them for Christmas.

Jack has named Cannon's dog "Todd".

Jack never wants Cannon to be alone when he's

napping, so this is usually how Cannon wakes up...with a

dog on his belly.
